The
Inishowen peninsula is one of the most beautiful areas in the whole
of Ireland. I have often referred to it as the forgotten peninsula because
it does not get the attention it deserves. The hospitality of its people
is overwhelming. The beauty of its distinctive and varied scenery is
stunning.

Club brochure by
John Hume M.P. Member of European Parliament.

It
was christened 'the Dornoch of Ireland' and
for years golfers regarded Ballyliffin Golf
Club the ultimate hidden gem. Not only is this
one of the friendliest golf clubs in Ireland
but also the setting is unsurpassed and the
terrain so perfect for golf that those who accidentally
stumbled across it felt compelled to speak of
it in whispers.
|
For
some time now the 'Old Links' have become firmly
established in the hearts of its members and
non-members alike and it was only a matter of
time that the new links (Glashedy Links) should
be constructed.
The architects were to be Pat Ruddy & Tom
Craddock and within two years they built one
of the finest Links in Ireland as they had promised
to do. to do.

|
So
now Ballyliffin Golf Club has 36 holes to savour; two
outstanding and contrasting links courses; the Classic
Old Links & the magnificent new Glashedy Links. To fully
compliment the extended facilities at Ballyliffin Golf
Course, a new clubhouse is at the completion stage and
will be in service for the summer season 2000.
