Folk Group: Rehearsal for Sat Mar 7th mass on Wed next, Mar 3rd at 8.30 p.m. Girls' School. All welcome to join us - the more the merrier! The group plans to sing at mass once a month, with rehearsal on the first Wed to sing at the following Sat mass.
The monthly devotions, in honour of Our Lady, will take place in the Carmelite Retreat Centre, Termonbacca, Derry on Tuesday 2nd March starting with confessions at 7.30 p.m. followed by Rosary and Mass, finishing around 10.00 p.m. All are welcome to attend.
Phones for Boards: St. Patrick's Girls' School is collecting phones for the Jack & Jill Foundation to raise money for the charity, with the added bonus of obtaining an Interactive whiteboard for the school if enough phones are collected. Please drop your unwanted mobile phones (any condition) into the collection box at the school or buckets at various supermarkets throughout the town. Your help is much appreciated.
Blessing of Scout Den: An ecumenical blessing of the newly refurbished Scout Den in the basement of the Colgan Hall will take place on Fri Mar 12th at 8 p.m. All past leaders are invited to join us. Carndonagh Bethany Bereavement Support Group Commissioning of members will take place at 7pm Mass on Saturday 27th February. If you would like to talk to someone in confidence the hours are Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday 7-9pm. Tel 0863572121 or 0863593821 there is also a drop in Centre at the Parish Office at Sacred Heart Church, Carndonagh on the first Monday of each month between 7-9pm.
Wesley Hall Basic one to one computer or internet classes are now taking place in the Wesley Hall. These are 8 week courses and the fee is 60 euro. Monday night dancing at 8.30pm. Line Dancing Friday at 8.30pm New members welcome. To book telephone for any of these courses telephone 9329680.
The Beavers had a very busy week, starting off on Monday night, where they continued their studies for the up coming Christopher Hegarty Memorial Quiz in the fire station. They were treated to a tour of the station and informed of all the health and safety aspects of domestic fires. They also witnessed the all new Thermal Imaging Camera and were amazed at some of the HOT SPOTS on one of the leaders. On Thursday the day of the quiz finally dawned and at the end a team calling themselves Plonkers won. They were led by Liam Mc Gonigle and Cathal Mc Callion. From the Cubs came Donal Doherty and Michael Doherty and from Beavers Fionn Bowyer and Adam Mc Carron. Many thanks to Christopher's Dad and sister, Sheamus Hegarty and Rosie Devlin for coming along to present the perpetual cup to the winners.

Many Thanks to all who supported the ICA fundraiser for Haiti, which totalled 4745 euro. The money has been forwarded to the Irish Red Cross. The winners of the hampers were Mary Doherty (S) Carndonagh, Bridie Doherty, Killourt Malin and Vincent Lafferty, Carndonagh.
The amount raised for Alzhiemers Church Gate Collection was 1392 euro. Thanks to the collectors and all those who gave so generously.
420 euro has been forwarded to Concern Haiti Fund from collection boxes which were placed in Supervalu Carndonagh.
Blood Transfusion Service 274 donations were received at this clinic, thank you to all those who came along to donate, to those who helped and the Principal and Staff of the Community School.

Carndonagh Youth Club/Drop-in Committee would welcome new volunteers to help with their Drop-in on Tuesday evenings. The Youth Drop-in was set up last October in response to the need of the youth 14-17 age group in the Carndonagh area to have a safe designated youth space under the leadership of dedicated Voluntary Youth Leaders. All volunteers are offered the opportunity to participate in Accredited Youth Training awards. Drug and Alcohol Awareness Parents Programme. It is always an ongoing concern for parents the issue of Drugs and Alcohol misuse for their children and often parents feel they are not prepared or have the relevant information when talking to their children about Alcohol/Drugs. Vanessa Scahill Foroige Donegal Youth Drugs & Alcohol Education Officer has responded to parents concerns and delivers a Drug / Alcohol awareness programme for parents. Recycling Mobile Phones: St. Patrick’s Girls’ N.S., Carndonagh, is participating in the “Phones For Boards” scheme organised by the Jack & Jill Foundation. This organisation provides home nursing care to babies with brain damage (250 phones = 1 month’s care). As well as helping this charity, the school will also benefit as it will receive an interactive whiteboard for every 400 phones collected. Simply drop your old phone (the condition of phone doesn’t matter) into the collection box at the school, give to any staff member or pupil or telephone 9374412 to arrange collection.
Cash For Clobber: St. Patrick’s Girls’ N.S., Carndonagh, is participating in the Cash For Clobber Scheme. Simply fill bin bags with old clothes, shoes, curtains etc. and drop into the school. Deadline is Monday 1st March.
