Derry Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes 16-21 July 2010 Application forms available for any young person aged 14-15 who would like a place on the pilgrimage. Special arrangements are made for the youth who will be lead by Pilgrimage Youth Team. For further information tel 04871351233.

Watoto Children’s Choir, Uganda Present two concerts in St. Pius X Church Moville on Friday 19th February at 1pm & 7pm. Donations towards the upkeep of the school and orphanage gratefully accepted all welcome

The Beavers It turned out to be a very busy week for all sections within Scouting this week. The Beavers kicked of by making the traditional St. Bridget's Crosses. Their prayers and good deeds were really and truly answered, on Saturday 31 Beavers attended the County Quiz in Letterkenny and later went to the cinema and watched Toy Story in 3D. The Cubs had a demonstration in First Aid served up by Tom O Sullivan. On Thur. night the Cubs joined the Scouts and were entertained by the local Garda and the ESB who both gave talks on health and safety in dealing with electric and on our roads. This was all in preparation for the annual Christopher Hegarty cup which is coming up shortly.

8th Donegal Scout Unit are compiling a database of past leaders. If you were a beaver, cup or scout leader or you know someone who was, please email your details to groupcouncil.com as soon as possible of contact any present leader.

Sr. Josephine Walsh Weekend Retreat with emphasis on forgiving, healing and making a new start,

Pilgrimage to Fatima and the Lisbon coast from the 2nd of June to the 9th June. Card Making Classes in the Wesley Hall Names are now being taken for a Card making course which will begin in February. Basic one to one computer or internet classes are now taking place in the hall. Blood Donation Clinic Wednesday 17th February from 3pm – 4.45pm & 7pm-9.30pm. Thursday –9.30pm 18th February from 2pm – 4.45pm & 7pm at Carndonagh Community School, Carndonagh. Help ensure essential Blood Supplies are always available by giving blood regularly.

Enrolments for September 2010 Registration forms for September 2010 are now available for St Patrick’s Girls School Call into the school or contact the secretary at 9374412. As part of a building extension application to the Dept. of Education and Science we must ascertain future enrolment figures for the school, therefore, we ask parents who intend to enrol their children in the next number of years to register their daughters’ names, addresses and dates of birth (include new-born babies) as soon as possible but no later than Feb 17th you can do this by phoning 9374412. Please let other parents know of this appeal.

Recycling Mobile Phones: St. Patrick’s Girls’ N.S., Carndonagh, is participating in the “Phones For Boards” scheme organised by the Jack & Jill Foundation. This organisation provides home nursing care to babies with brain damage (250 phones = 1 month’s care). As well as helping this charity, the school will also benefit as it will receive an interactive whiteboard for every 400 phones collected. Simply drop your old phone (the condition of phone doesn’t matter) into the collection box at the school, give to any staff member or pupil or telephone 9374412 to arrange collection.

Cash For Clobber: St. Patrick’s Girls’ N.S., Carndonagh, is participating in the Cash For Clobber Scheme. Simply fill bin bags with old clothes, shoes, curtains etc. and drop into the school.

Free Child Care Places: Registration forms for Naíscoil Domhnach Óg, which participates in the Early Childhood & Care Education scheme, are now available for parents wishing to enrol their children in September 2010. Please call into the school at Pound St., Carndonagh, or telephone 9329723.

Carnival There will be an information night at the Carnival Office, Tul na ri, Carndonagh on Wednesday 10th February starting at 7pm where you can find out more about plans for the St Patrick Day parade and try your hand at Drumming and Hat Making Workshops.

Feis Domhnaigh AGM on Wednesday 10th February at 8.30pm in the Colgan Hall. All members please attend and new members welcome.

Hair, Health & Beauty Night in the Strand Hotel, Ballyliffin on Wednesday 17th February at 7.00pm

Tickets cost 20 euros and entitle you to 2 treatments. Treatments available on the night are: Fortune teller Jimmy Quinn, Angel card readers, Hair, Beauty, Reflexology, Massage. Various Stalls with Jewellery, make up, hand bags, candles, gifts, knitwear. Tickets available from St. Patrick's Boys NS office in the mornings. Limited number of tickets available.

GAA Club Lotto: The winning numbers in the club mini-lotto were20, 9, 24, 22 and 19. There was no jackpot winner. The 75 Euro went Andrew McDonald, Killian, Malin. 30 Euro to P. Moore, Carn. 15 Euro to John Paul McColgan, Bunn, Glengad, O’Donnell Family (Denis), Cregnahorna, Carn and Roisin Curran, Muff. The jackpot next week is 8,200 Euro and the draw will be held in McGonagles Bar. A big thank you to all those who support our lotto.
